Empowering Women and Youth Through Bamboo-Based Entrepreneurship in Salima and Dowa

We are excited to share progress from our ongoing initiative in Salima and Dowa where we are empowering women and youth through bamboo-based entrepreneurship.

A total of 44 groups (24 in Dowa and 20 in Salima) have been equipped with start-up materials and are now receiving hands-on training from experienced bamboo artisans. The training covers the production of unique bamboo products including:

1. Chairs

2. Table mats

3. Baskets

4. Lamp shades

5. Bamboo bee hives

…and many more!

So far, we have reached 2,020 project participants, building skills that will help them participate meaningfully in both production and marketing of sustainable bamboo products.

This initiative is not only fostering economic independence for women and youth, but also promoting environmentally friendly livelihoods. 🌱

Stay tuned as we continue to grow stronger communities through innovation and sustainable craftsmanship!
