Promotion of Rights to Adequate Food and Community Resilience to Effects of Climate Change (PRAFOCRECC) is a right-based project that Green livelihoods (GL) in partnership with Foundation for Irrigation and Sustainable Development (FISD) is implementing in Dowa district. the project is being funded by Dan Church Aid (DCA). The project is targeting at least 10,000 households from TA Mkukula and TA Msakambewa under Chibvala EPA in Dowa district.

In this project GL is focused mainly on building the capacity of the right holders (vulnerable-groups in the targeted communities) to be resilient to the adverse effects of climate change. In the face of climate change, agricultural productivity has been negatively affected such that the yields are so minimal hence leaving the rural poor households prone to persistent food insecurities.

With funding from DCA, GL is promoting Bee-keeping and seed multiplication for drought tolerant crops. GL in this regard has ditributed 80 bee-hives to poor farmers (10 groups) and also reached to 30 groups with droup tolerant crops for seed multiplication in the targeted sections under Chibvala EPA.
